At least two people were confirmed dead in a four-vehicle collision that occurred along a section of the Whithorne main road, in the parish of Westmoreland, on Wednesday.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
Reports indicate that shortly after 12:30 pm, the driver of a Toyota Succeed was traveling along Lindo’s Hill towards Savanna-la-Mar when they lost control and crashed into a gas tanker.
The vehicle then collided with a garbage truck and a Toyota Axio, which were traveling in the opposite direction.
It is reported that the driver of the Succeed and a female passenger in the Toyota Axio sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.
Four other people in both vehicles also sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital, where they were treated and admitted.
