St Mary, Jamaica — The lifeless body of an unidentified woman was discovered along the Devon Pen main road in St Mary on Sunday, sending shockwaves through the community.
The body, wrapped in a blue tarpaulin, was found by residents who immediately alerted the authorities.
According to police reports, the deceased is believed to be in her late 20s, of dark complexion, and had several tattoos on her chest, thighs, and right shoulder. She was dressed in a white t-shirt, blue underwear, and black socks at the time of her discovery.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim bore signs of strangulation and multiple abrasions on her body. Distressingly, she appeared to be approximately six months pregnant.
This tragic incident marks the first reported murder for the parish of St Mary in 2025. The St Mary police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the victim or providing information that could aid their inquiries.
