A fatal shooting in Bickersteth, St James, has left one man dead, his identity yet to be confirmed by authorities.
The deceased, described as having a brown complexion with an unkempt hairstyle, was discovered clad in a red shirt, blue jeans, and a pair of black Polo slippers.
According to reports from the Montego Bay Police, the incident occurred around 4:50 pm when the man was seated in the front passenger seat of a taxi, awaiting transportation to another community. Suddenly, an explosion rang out, and the man was found slumped in the motor vehicle.
Authorities were alerted, and the victim was rushed to the hospital. However, despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
In light of this tragic event, detectives are urging anyone with information regarding the identity of the deceased or details pertaining to the incident to come forward. Individuals who can provide assistance are encouraged to contact the Montego Bay Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) at 76-953-6191, Crime Stop at 311, or the nearest police station.
