Law enforcement authorities have charged two sisters in connection with a stabbing incident that left a woman hospitalized following a dispute in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
The accused have been identified as 28-year-old Sandrene Hayden and 18-year-old Sarah Byfield, a promoter, both residents of Adelaide Street in the Rivoli community.
Reports from the police indicate that the incident occurred on March 28 along Adelaide Street, where an argument between Byfield and another woman reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation. During the altercation, Hayden is alleged to have become involved and used a knife to inflict injuries to the woman’s upper body.
Following the attack, both women reportedly left the area.
The injured party was subsequently transported to hospital, where she was admitted for medical treatment.
Investigators say a formal report was filed, and the suspects were later taken into custody. They were charged after being positively identified during an identification parade.
