Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: Two police officers were transported to the Spanish Town Hospital and treated in serious but stable condition, following an incident where they were attacked and shot by a group of heavily armed men in St Catherine on Sunday morning.

Our news team has learnt that both victims, Constable Orane Josephs and Constable Williams are both assigned to the Shady Grove Police Station.

Reports are that about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 22, both officers responded to a radio message that a robbery was in progress at a business establishment located at Union Square.

Both officers rushed to the location, but upon arrival, they were ambushed by heavily armed men on the roof of the building. The men opened fire hitting both police officers who managed to escape without being killed.

The gunmen made good their escape, while the police officers were assisted by other members of the Constabulary Force to hospital, where they were treated and admitted.
