ST. CATHERINE, Jamaica — Two men were shot dead during separate but connected police operations on Thursday, October 9, linked to a recent multi-victim shooting in Commodore District that left five dead and four injured.
The first incident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. at Jewels Estate, Nollis, Bog Walk, where a man armed with a rifle was shot by officers. An M16 rifle, magazine, and ammunition were seized.
Later, police intercepted a vehicle along Grange Lane. The occupants opened fire, and officers returned fire. One man was found with gunshot wounds, a pistol was recovered, and he was pronounced dead at Spanish Town Hospital.
Both cases have been reported to INDECOM. Police are urging the public to share information via Crime Stop at 311, the NIB Tip Line at 811, or the nearest station.
