Portland, Jamaica — A tragic crash in St Margaret’s Bay, Portland, has left two men dead and three others nursing injuries early Friday morning.
The police have not yet released the names of the deceased, but grief-stricken relatives and friends have flooded social media with tributes since news of the incident broke.
According to preliminary reports, shortly before 3:00 a.m., the two men were riding separate motorcycles, each carrying a female passenger, when both bikes collided with a motorcar along the roadway.
The violent impact threw all four motorcycle occupants onto the asphalt. The motorcyclists were rushed to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The two women who were riding as pillions, along with the driver of the motorcar, sustained injuries and are currently being treated in hospital.
Police investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
