Alledged Linstead Goat Thieves Open Fire On Police at Commodore

Bog Walk, St Catherine (McN) – Bog Walk police are reporting that two persons were apprehended and arrested on Sunday morning, after seven stolen goats, and five five rounds of ammunition were allegedly found in their motor vehicle.

Reports from the St Catherine police are that about 10:30 a.m on Sunday, police acting on information of stolen goats and firearms, intercepted a vehicle in Linstead which was reported as the transportation for the criminal act.

The interception happened at the by-pass near Commodore, Linstead. The driver of the vehicle was signalled to stop, but he disobeyed and the police gave chase.

When both the police and the vehicle reached Magazine Lane, Linstead, two persons in the vehicle allegedly engaged the police in a shoot-out.

Using trained tactics, the police was able to apprehend both occupants of the vehicle.

The vehicle was immediately searched and five rounds of ammunition along with the stolen goats were found.

The men were placed in police custody at the Bog Walk police station and have been charged with breaching the Firearm’s and Larceny Act. Their identities are withheld so as not to damage the ongoing investigations.
