Kingston, Jamaica — Police have taken two individuals into custody in connection with a deadly gun attack that claimed the lives of a father and his three-year-old son on Nelson Street in Denham Town last month.
The victims have been identified as 31-year-old Kerrio Pinnock and his son, three-year-old Jayce Pinnock. Investigators say the identities of the two persons now in custody are being withheld as inquiries continue.
Reports indicate that about 1:30 a.m. on February 21, armed men reportedly forced their way into Pinnock’s residence and opened gunfire. During the attack, Kerrio Pinnock reportedly attempted to flee but was shot multiple times before the gunmen escaped from the scene.
Following the shooting, Kerrio Pinnock, young Jayce, and another child were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds. They were rushed to hospital, where Jayce was pronounced dead.
Kerrio Pinnock remained hospitalized but later succumbed to his injuries on Monday, February 23. The other injured child was admitted for treatment.
Police say investigations into the deadly incident have intensified as they continue to gather evidence.
