Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – One man was shot and killed, while another was shot and injured during a shooting incident which occurred at a bar in Grange Hill, Westmoreland on Friday night, March 23.

The dead man has been identified as Everton Jackson, 43-year-old chef of Top Lincoln District in Grange Hill, Westmoreland. A 23-year-old laborer of the said address was shot and injured, he is presently at the Savanna-la-mar hospital in serious condition.

Reports by the Morgans Bridge Police are that, shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Jackson and the other man were among a group of patrons at a bar in Top Lincoln District.

Minutes later, they were ambushed by a group of armed men who opened fire hitting Jackson multiple times to his upper body.  The other man was shot several times in the regions of his lower body. The gunmen then made their escape in the area.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, both victims were rushed to the Savanna-la-mar hospital where Jackson was pronounced dead and the other man admitted in serious condition.
