St Catherine, Jamaica – Blood ran on the Hellshire main road early Saturday morning after a horrific collision claimed the lives of two persons and left several others nursing serious injuries.
The deadly crash occurred sometime after 3:00 a.m., about 100 metres south of the Greater Portmore entrance, sending shockwaves through the quiet early-morning community.
Reports reaching Mckoy’s News are that the collision involved a white BMW motorcar and a grey Honda Fit Shuttle. It is understood that the impact was so severe that the BMW slammed into a utility pole, cutting electricity in sections of the area and leaving residents in darkness.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been released by the authorities, but one of the victims is believed to be a teenager.
Eyewitnesses on the scene described a chaotic aftermath, with mangled metal, shattered glass, and cries for help echoing through the night. Emergency responders rushed to the scene and transported the injured to the Spanish Town Hospital for treatment.
Police investigators and accident reconstruction teams are now combing the scene to determine the exact cause of the crash.
