St Catherine, Jamaica — Two people are dead following a fiery two-vehicle crash along Old Harbour Road, near Chedwin Park in Spanish Town, on Monday morning.
The victims have been identified as 44-year-old Carlos Pryce of Burnside Valley, Red Hills, St Andrew, and 26-year-old Shandee Williams of a Westmoreland address.
Reports are that about 5:00 a.m., Pryce was driving a 2005 grey Honda Fit, while Williams was operating a 2012 grey Nissan Altima, when the vehicles collided head-on in the vicinity of Chedwin Park.
The force of the impact left both vehicles extensively damaged, with the drivers trapped inside the mangled wreckage.
Emergency responders were called to the scene and the victims were transported to the Spanish Town Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The Accident Investigation and Reconstruction Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force has since processed the crash site. Both vehicles were later removed from the scene as investigations continue into what led to the fatal collision.
