Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Kingston police say they are still seeking the public’s assistance to locate the driver of a motor car, which crashed into a crowd of commuters in Kingston on Friday night, September 28, killing one man, a teenager and injuring four other persons.
Dead are 17-year-old Shaneda Farquharson and 29-year-old Tarik Dawkins, both of Kingston 8.
Reports by the police are that about 11:20 p.m., Farquharson and Dawkins were among a group of commuters standing along East Street, in the vicinity of Regret Street, Kingston 8, when the motor car was seen traveling at full speed in their direction.
The vehicle crashed into the crowd, mowing down all six victims and failed to stop.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, the victims were rushed to the hospital where Dawkins and Farquharson were pronounced dead, and the other four admitted in serious condition.
The lawmen then carried out a search for the hit and run driver. They later discovered the vehicle crashed and abandoned along Smith Lane.
The Allman Town Police say anyone with information that could assist in apprehending the driver of the ill-fated car, is being asked to contact the Police 922-2842 or 119.
