Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Hunts Bay Police have now listed Barrington Whyte as a person of interest and he is being asked to turn himself over to the police by 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 30.
Barrington Whyte is believed to have chop his wife Mellissia Edwards-Whyte, a female District Constable attached to Crime Stop, to death at their home in Farmbrook, Kingston on Saturday night, September 29.
Whyte fled the community and is presently being sought by the police.
Reports by the Hunts Bay Police are that about 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, Whyte and District constable Edwards-Whyte were at home when an argument developed between them.
It is further reported that the husband armed himself with a machete, which he used to chop his wife to death.
Whyte then fled the scene.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, Edwards-Whyte was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
