Truck Driver Electrocuted in Spanish Town

SPANISH TOWN, St Catherine — The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) has launched a probe into the death of 27-year-old Demari Lewis of Mountain Side district, St Elizabeth, who is suspected to have been electrocuted.

Police report that around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, Lewis was found with electrical injuries on a tarpaulin atop a truck parked along Old Harbour Road in Spanish Town. He was transported to Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities say the incident is suspected to be a case of death by misadventure, and investigations are ongoing.
