A Trelawny woman and her two daughters, pleaded guilty to the murder of her younger sister, when they appeared before the Trelawny Parish Court on Monday, February 8.
The accused 39-year-old Nadine Geddes, pleaded guilty to plotting the murder of her younger sister, 39-year-old Tamara Geddes, while her two daughters, 21-year-old Shanice Ruddock, and the other who is a minor, also pleaded guilty to knowing about the entire plot.
All three were remanded into custody and are scheduled to reappear in court on February 26, where they will be sentenced.
Their Co-accused, 24-year-old Brian Shelly and 23-year-old, Rexon Knott, both of Norwood communty, are also before the court on murder charges after they confessed last year that they were contracted by another accused, Owen Irving, who paid them the sum of $100,000 on behalf of the convicted woman, Nadeen Geddes, to kill her sister Tamara.
Irving, a 55-year-old, farmer of Hampton district and Salt Spring, St James, who was charged with murder and conspiracy to murder, also confessed during an interview that he collected $250,000 from his female companion, 33-year-old Tashana Young, unemployed of Salt Spring who is also now in custody, to hire a hitman to kill Tamara Geddes.
Irving took a portion of the money for himself and then paid over the rest to the hitmen.
During the course of the investigation last year, Nadeen Geddes reportedly confessed to the police that she was the one who put up the money to have a hit-man murdered her own sister, while Young and Irving, acted as the couriers, and transported the cash from her to the contract killer.
Reports by the police are that about 8:30pm on Friday, June 19, Geddes and her 10-year-old daughter were at home when a masked man who was armed with a handgun forced his way inside the house, and held them at gunpoint.
The gunman demanded money and proceeded to rob Geddes of $16,000 in cash, and her two cell phones.
He then attempted to rape Geddes, but she resisted, and when his demands were not met, he opened fire killing her on the spot.
