The Montego Hills police in St James have confirmed that a 52-year-old mason who was battling for life at the Cornwall Regional Hospital, after being shot and injured by gunmen in Hollywood, Norwood, on Monday night, February 8, has died at hospital.
He has been identified as Audley Haughton, of a Westgate Hills address, also in St James.
Reports by the Montego Hills police are that about 8:30 pm, Haughton had gone to the community of Norwood to visit a female when he was pounced upon by armed men.
He was then held at gunpoint, robbed of his cellphone and cash, before being shot by his assailants multiple times.
The men made their escape in the area on foot, after which the police were summoned, and upon arrival, Haughton was rushed to hospital where he was treated, but later succumbed to his injuries.
