Detective Inspector Simeon Hamilton, Acting Crime Officer for the parish of Trelawny, has indicated that another man who was also taken into custody in connection with the murder, is still being interrogated.
“We are still questioning the first Person of Interest who was picked up last Friday morning, but another man, who is considered to be the main Person of Interest in this murder has still not yet being located,” Inspector Hamilton states.
“We have learnt that the suspect who resides inTop Trelawny fled his community immediately after the killing, but I can assure you that we are pulling all the stops to apprehend him within the shortest period,“
59-year-old Valerie Thompson, otherwise called “Ms P” of Panasus district also in Clark’s Town, was discovered dead on a section of her farm last Thursday night.
Reports by the Clark’s Town police are that about 8:30 a.m., on Thursday, Thompson left her home to visit her farm which is located at a section of Clarkes Town known as Hampshire. When she did not return home that afternoon her daughter Kamara Thompson, got worried and alerted her other adopted sister
Both girls set out in search of their mother, but after calling her cellular phone several times and visiting her farm, they still could not locate her.
About 8:30 p.m. that night, two of their male cousins joined in the search and that was when the gruesome discovery was made.
Thompson’s body was discovered partially hidden by bushes on a section of her farm, the body which had multiple chop wounds, was in the nude with several of her fingers and her head chopped off.
