Trelawny, Jamaica – The Trelawny police are currently investigating the robbery of a National Commercial Bank (NCB) automated teller machine (ATM) in Duncans, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Commander Superintendent Winston Milton reported that the incident is believed to have taken place between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. The ATM, located at a local supermarket, was forcefully broken into, and the vault containing an undisclosed sum of money was removed.
“Police officers arrived at the scene… it was observed that the building which houses the machine was broken into and the vault containing the money removed,” Superintendent Milton stated.
Authorities are in discussions with NCB as part of their ongoing investigation to determine the exact amount of money stolen. As of now, the police have not disclosed further details about the method used to carry out the heist or whether there are any suspects.
Investigations are ongoing as the police continue to review security footage and gather evidence in hopes of identifying those responsible for the theft.
