MCINTOSH COUNTY, GA — A heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded early Sunday morning along Interstate 95 in Georgia, as 27-year-old Reagan Dougan of Raleigh, North Carolina, and her four children were killed in a fiery two-car collision.
The family, en route to Florida to reunite with Reagan’s husband, Christian Dougan, perished around 6 a.m. near exit 67 in McIntosh County—approximately 35 miles south of Savannah. The children were just 9, 4, 2 years old, and a 3-month-old infant.
According to Georgia State Trooper Christopher Ashdown, the family’s Jeep SUV was traveling in the left lane at a high rate of speed before it slammed into the rear of a sedan. The SUV reportedly burst into flames on impact. Video footage from the scene showed a charred vehicle resting against a guardrail, while the other car remained in the center lane with severe rear-end damage.

The devastating loss has sent shockwaves through the Raleigh community and beyond. “Our hearts are shattered into a million pieces,” wrote a family friend, Jonesy CJ, on social media. Another friend, Lindsey Marie, shared: “I can’t imagine what her poor husband and family are feeling. My heart is broken — tomorrow is never promised.”
Reagan was remembered as a vibrant, loving mother and a loyal friend. “You were one of the strongest women I’ve ever known. I will forever love you,” wrote longtime friend Bailey Joy Sandvall.
A GoFundMe campaign launched to support the family has already raised over $50,000 in just a few days.
The crash remains under investigation by Georgia authorities.
