Tragedy on Norman Manley Boulevard — 18-Year-Old Girl Killed in Hanover Crash

Hanover, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) — A Sunday evening drive ended in devastation as an 18-year-old female passenger lost her life in a crash along the Norman Manley Boulevard in Hanover around 6:00 p.m..

Details are still emerging, but police say the fatal accident involved a sport utility vehicle and a sedan. The young woman, whose identity has not yet been released, was a passenger in one of the vehicles.

Investigators are pointing to excessive speeding, error of judgment, and loss of control as possible causes of the collision. The force of the impact left one vehicle crumpled and stunned onlookers shaken.

“This stretch of road has seen too many lives lost. Something needs to be done,” said one nearby resident.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but their efforts were in vain. The victim was pronounced dead shortly after the crash.
