KINGSTON, Jamaica — Heartbreak rocked Mapleleaf Avenue on Wednesday after the body of five-year-old Jahair Spencer was discovered in a pit behind a house.
Little Jahair, of Kingston 10, had been reported missing on Tuesday, September 2, after he was last seen at home without clothing. His disappearance sparked deep concern among family and residents, who had been desperately searching.
The grim discovery was made less than 24 hours later, sending shock and grief through the community.
Police investigators from the Half-Way Tree division have since cordoned off the scene as they probe the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
Residents say the tragedy has left them devastated, as questions swirl about how the young boy ended up in the pit.
