Kingston, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) — Jamaican TikTok personality Kemar Jones, more popularly known as “Candy”, had his bail extended when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday, in relation to a wounding with intent charge.
A bench warrant had previously been issued for Jones after he failed to appear in court on June 28, 2025.
When questioned about his no-show, Jones told Presiding Judge Peter Wilson that his home had burned down and that he was injured in the fire, which led to him seeking medical attention. However, no medical certificate was presented in court to support his explanation.
Judge Wilson, visibly skeptical, vacated the bench warrant but issued a stern warning.
“If a nuh you a stab up somebody or a war with somebody, a somebody a war with you… It cheaper we keep you,” Wilson remarked.
Despite doubts, the judge granted Jones another chance, assigning him a legal aid attorney moving forward.
Both the complainant and the investigating officer were notably absent when the case was called up.
Jones is now expected to return to court on October 3, 2025, with a strict warning from Judge Wilson that failing to appear again will have serious consequences.
Back in May, Jones was cleared of a separate charge of assault at common law stemming from a physical altercation with another man.
