Turkish TikTok influencer Kubra Aykut, 26, has tragically died after falling from the fifth floor of a luxury apartment in Istanbul. The social media star, known for her viral “Wedding without a Groom” videos, was found dead last Monday in the Sultanbeyli district.
Authorities are investigating the incident, which is believed to be a suicide, as a note was discovered near her body. Her death has sent shockwaves across her fanbase, with many expressing concern over recent troubling posts in which she discussed her health struggles.
Kubra had amassed over a million TikTok followers and more than 200,000 on Instagram, captivating fans with her humorous and empowering content. However, in her final days, she shared distressing messages about her inability to gain weight, stating, “I lose a kilogram every day. I don’t know what to do.” Her last TikTok video, posted shortly before her death, showed her meticulously cleaning her apartment.
The influencer’s body was taken for an autopsy before being transferred to her hometown of Bursa for burial. Aykut’s funeral was attended by family, friends, and fellow influencers, including Dilan Polat and Enes Çetinkaya, her long-time partner.
Kubra Aykut rose to fame in 2023 after hosting a solo wedding, humorously “marrying” herself in an extravagant ceremony. Her unique style and playful take on self-empowerment gained her a devoted fanbase, who are now mourning the loss of a star they described as “an angel” and “a beautiful soul.”
