ST JAMES, Jamaica — Three men believed to be linked to a criminal network were shot and killed during a reported confrontation with security forces in Coral Gardens late Thursday night.
According to preliminary reports, police officers came under gunfire while operating in the community, leading to an exchange of shots between the parties. The incident unfolded during the late-night hours.
When the shooting ended, the three men were discovered with gunshot injuries. They were transported to hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) confirmed that investigators have been assigned to the scene as inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fatal encounter continue.
