Three Ocho Rios men, including a 19-year-old, have been charged in connection with a pair of robberies reported in St Ann earlier this month.
The accused are Maleke McLeod, otherwise called ‘Egg Head’, 20-year-old Rockeme Stone, otherwise called ‘Wacky’, and 21-year-old Dominiq Gayle.
Police say the men face several charges, including robbery with aggravation, conspiracy to commit robbery with aggravation, assault at common law, possession of a prohibited weapon, and using a firearm to commit a felony and a scheduled offence.
They are also charged with being part of a criminal organisation and participating in the commission of a serious offence by a criminal organisation.
According to investigators, around 2:10 p.m. on September 5, men travelling in a white Toyota Axio entered a gaming lounge in Pineapple, Ocho Rios. One reportedly pointed a firearm at the bartender before the men stole cash and assorted liquor and fled in the vehicle.
About two hours later, police say the same vehicle pulled up at a mini-mart in Coconut Grove, where two men allegedly exited and one brandished a handgun during a robbery.
The three accused were arrested on September 22 and subsequently charged following a question-and-answer session.
Police say the men reportedly confessed to the offences.
