Jamaica News: The Black River police in the parish of St Elizabeth has confirmed that three men, who were taken into custody in connection with the seizure of over 1000 pounds of ganja in the parish on Sunday June 10th, will be slapped with criminal charges this week.
The lawmen further pointed out that, the names of the accused cannot be released until after they are charged and also they are now in search of two other men in connection with the said incident.
Reports are that, about 9:20 pm, on Sunday a team of officers carried out an operation along a section of the beach property in Parotee when they saw a group of men unloading packages and bags from vehicles.
The men were approached by the police and they ran in various directions but the lawmen managed to apprehend three of them. Also, the bags were searched and found to contain ganja weighing approximately 1000 pounds.
Three motor vehicles were also seized at the scene.
