Three Killed in Late-Night Shooting on Mandella Terrace, Kingston

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A drive-by shooting claimed the lives of three people and left several others injured in the usually quiet community of Mandella Terrace on Friday night.

The deceased have been identified as 32-year-old Derrick Goodgame Jr, also known as “Ricky,” a labourer from Chatsworth Avenue, and 23-year-old Kimberley Plummer, a customer service representative and resident of the community. A third victim, an unidentified male of dark complexion, was also killed. He was described as having tattoos on his left arm and chest, plaited hair, and was wearing a black T-shirt and light blue jeans shorts at the time of the incident.

According to preliminary reports, the shooting occurred around 10:10 p.m. during a “third night” event—a traditional gathering held to mourn a recently deceased community member. Witnesses state that an undetermined number of vehicles approached Mandella Terrace, and occupants, armed with firearms, exited and began firing indiscriminately into the crowd.

As chaos ensued, the assailants reportedly fled the scene in the same vehicles they arrived in. The wounded were quickly transported to Kingston Public Hospital, where doctors pronounced Goodgame, Plummer, and the unidentified male dead on arrival. Several others are currently receiving treatment for their injuries.

The police have since launched an investigation into the shooting, but no suspects have been identified or apprehended at this time. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist in their inquiries.

The police presence in the area has been increased as investigations continue.
