Clarendon, Jamaica – A murder investigation is underway in Clarendon following the gruesome discovery of a young woman’s body in a cesspit in the Milk River area on Sunday. Police have confirmed that two men and a woman have been taken into custody in connection with the crime.
The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Derricka Rodgers, a sales representative who had been reported missing days earlier. According to police reports, around 8:00 a.m., officers acting on intelligence conducted a search at a premises in Deeside, Clarendon. During the search, Rodgers’ decomposing body was found concealed in a pit on the property.
Her disappearance had sparked growing concern among family members and residents in the community. The disturbing discovery has left the Milk River area in shock, with residents expressing outrage and grief over the tragic end to the young woman’s life.
Authorities say the three individuals arrested at the scene are being questioned, but their identities are being withheld pending further investigation. The motive behind the murder remains unclear, and detectives from the Clarendon Police Division are continuing their inquiries.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force is urging anyone with additional information to come forward and assist with the investigation. Grief counselors have also been mobilized to support Derricka’s family and affected community members.
