The Jamaica agricultural society to stage inaugural 5k run walk

Jamaica Sports News: Jamaica The Jamaica agricultural society will stage its inaugural Denbigh farmers 5k run walk, on Sunday July 8.

This was announced by the president of the Jamaica agricultural society, Norman Grant. “Proceeds from this event will be used to seed the JAS farmers disaster relief fund, under the JAS Foundation and to recognize the work of our over 250 farmers and fisher folk”

Participants will be required to contribute $1,000.00 and the route will take them in and around the Denbigh showground in May Pen.

Joint patrons are the Custos of Clarendon, William Shagoury and JAS president Norman Grant. ”It’s a nice curtain raiser to the Denbigh agricultural show, the 66th staging from august 4 to 6”

Hi-Pro is on board as the main sponsor and support has also come from a number of civic and other organisations in the parish of Clarendon. They include the chamber of commerce, the health services, the police and the municipal corporation, led by Mayor Winston Maragh. “I will be there to participate and anything to do with the interest of farmers in the parish, I am one hundred percent on board”

The early morning event is scheduled to start at the Denbigh showground at 6:30.
