Teenager Arrested and Charged for Firearm Seizure in Downtown Kingston

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: One man has been arrested and charged in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition, along Oxford Street in Downtown Kingston, on Sunday, February 10.

He has been identified as 18-year-old Ruben Biggs a welder of Pink Lane in Kingston 14.

Reports by the Denham Town Police are that about 8:30 p.m., a team of officers were carrying out routine patrols along downtown Kingston when they saw Biggs and another man.

Upon seeing the lawmen approaching, the other man ran and Biggs was held and searched.

The search led to the seizure of a Colt  .38O semi-automatic pistol fitted with a magazine containing eight live  .380 cartridges.

He was taken into custody and subsequently charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition
