A 17-year-old boy from St Catherine was found dead with multiple chop wounds in the Bamboo River community of Morant Bay, St Thomas, on Sunday, prompting a police investigation.
The deceased has been identified as Adjanie Christie of Greater Portmore, St Catherine.
According to police reports, residents discovered Christie’s body about 7:50 a.m. and alerted authorities. Officers responded to the scene and found the teenager clad in a T-shirt, blue denim shorts and a pair of Crocs slippers.
The body, which bore multiple chop wounds, was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital, where Christie was pronounced dead.
Investigators have not yet established a motive for the killing.
The Morant Bay Criminal Investigation Branch is continuing its investigation into the case.
