Westmoreland, Jamaica: A tragic hit-and-run accident claimed the life of a teenage boy on Friday night in the community of Top Road, Little London, Westmoreland.
The victim has been identified as Zayne Foster.
According to reports from the Little London police, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. Zayne had left his home to make a purchase at a nearby shop when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and fled the scene, leaving Zayne critically injured.
Emergency services were called to the scene, but despite their efforts, Zayne succumbed to his injuries.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities are hopeful that CCTV footage from the area will provide crucial evidence to identify and apprehend the driver responsible for the hit-and-run.
Residents of Top Road and the broader Little London community are urged to come forward with any information that might assist the police in their investigation.
