The Westmoreland police have arrested and charged a man with the rape of a 15 year-old female student in Grange Hill community during the month of March..
He has been identified as 27 year-old Oshane Thomas, of Grange Hill in Westmoreland, and Flankers in St James.
Reports are that the student was standing in the vicinity of the Savanna la mar bus Park looking a taxi to go to school.
She boarded a Voxy bus being driven by Thomas and he drove off in the direction of her school. Minutes later other passengers alighted from the bus, and Thomas drove to an isolated location where he and another man allegedly raped the student, and then pushed her from the bus.
The incident was reported to the Morgan’s Bridge police station and made a report.
Thomas was held at the bus park last week, and subsequent charged with Rape and Abduction following an identification parade on the weekend.
