Jamaica Crime News, Hanover: Our news team has learnt that three men who were seen probing the scene of a murder in Sandy Bay, Hanover on Tuesday, October 30, were later taken into custody by the police.
The names of the men who the police say hails from the same community of Claremont, just as the murder victim, are being withheld pending further investigations.
The men were arrested after they were allegedly seen by curious residents combing sections of the beach property, where one of their community members was shot multiple times to death, several hours before.
The Sandy Bay police say they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 25-year-old Andre Brown, who hailed from Claremont district, and whose body was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds along a beach property in Sandy Bay, on Tuesday, October 30.
Reports by the police are that residents living in Tryall Gardens housing scheme, reported hearing gunshots being fired in the area on Monday night.
Shortly after 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, residents stumbled upon Brown’s body, which was lying face down in the sand on the beach property.
The victim also had multiple gunshot wounds to his upper back.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, the scene was processed and the victim later transported to the Noel Holmes Hospital in Lucea, where he was pronounced dead.
After the scene was processed and the area was cleared, residents observed the men who drove to the area and appeared to have been searching the scene for unknown object or item.
The police were informed and quick actions led to the men being taken into custody and they are presently being questioned.
