St. James, Jamaica — The suspect in the hit-and-run incident that left an on-duty police officer critically injured has surrendered to authorities.
Dillon Reid, also known as “Bulby” or “CJ,” turned himself in to the police earlier today, accompanied by his attorney.
The injured officer, a Constable with the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), remains in hospital in critical condition as he receives medical care.
The white 2016 Toyota Probox involved in the hit-and-run, bearing the plate number 0130LC, was located in Blackshop, Amity Hall, St. James. Investigations had earlier identified Reid, of Blackshop, Amity Hall, as the driver of the vehicle at the time of the incident.
While Reid is now in custody, the JCF continues to gather information regarding the incident.
The JCF has commended the public for their vigilance and cooperation, which significantly aided the investigation.
