Suspect Arrested and Charged in Fatal Shooting of St Ann Cop

A Trelawny man, who was being treated at the hospital for gunshot wounds, has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Constable Ricardo Fairclough on Monday, April 15, along Bravo Street in St. Ann.

The accused has been identified as 29-year-old Oshane Davis, of Ulster Spring in Trelawny.

Another man identified as Siraldo Butler, also known as ‘Siri’, who was involved in the murder of the officer, was fatally shot in the parish days after the incident.

Constable Ricardo Fairclough, who was attached to the St. Ann Divisional Operational Support Unit, was walking along Bravo Street around 8:30 pm when he heard gunshots in the area.

He rushed to investigate and found two armed men firing shots at a female vendor. Upon approaching, the gunmen opened fire, hitting the officer in the upper body. However, the Constable returned fire, hitting one of the gunmen.

The gunmen fled the scene, and the injured cop and the female vendor were rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, the Constable was pronounced dead, while the woman was treated and admitted in serious condition.

Davis was later transported to the hospital by relatives, under the name Shawn Brown, and provided a fictitious story claiming he was shot and injured by armed men.
