St Ann, Jamaica: Police Killer Fatally Shot – The Jamaica Constabulary Force High Command reports that a man allegedly involved in the shooting death of a Police Constable in St. Ann was fatally shot during a confrontation with police on Tuesday evening.
The deceased, identified as Siraldo Butler, also known as ‘Siri’, is believed to be connected to the shooting death of Constable Ricardo Fairclough, who served with the St. Ann Divisional Operational Support Unit.
Butler was fatally shot after engaging security forces in a shootout along Snake Lane, Steer Town, St. Ann, shortly after 3:00 pm yesterday. An illegal firearm was recovered from him.
On Monday around 8:30 pm, Constable Fairclough was on Bravo Street in St. Ann when he heard gunshots nearby. Upon investigation, he found armed men firing at a female vendor. When he intervened, the gunmen shot him in the upper body before fleeing.
Both the injured officer and the woman were rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, Constable Fairclough succumbed to his injuries, while the woman was treated and admitted in serious condition.
