Jamaica Crime News, St Thomas: A man who was shot and injured, after he reportedly threatened and attacked a licensed firearm holder in the parish of St. Thomas, on Sunday, December 2, succumbed to injuries at hospital on Thursday, December 13.
The dead man has been identified as Lenton Smalling, 21-year-old unemployed of 11 Miles in Bull Bay, St Thomas.
Reports by the Morant Bay Police are that about 6:55 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, Smalling was at a location in 11 Miles, when he reportedly threatened and attacked a businessman, who is also a licensed firearm holder.
The businessman, in an act of self-defense, pulled his licensed firearm and opened fire hitting Smalling multiple times to his upper body.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, the scene was processed and the businessman questioned, followed by which Smalling was transported to hospital where he was treated and admitted.
Smalling who was in critical condition, succumbed to injuries on Thursday afternoon.
