Residents of St Mary can now enjoy same-day processing of driver’s licences, thanks to an expansion of services at the Annotto Bay Tax Office.
According to the Tax Administration of Jamaica (TAJ), the Annotto Bay office will now offer the full suite of driver’s licence services, joining a growing list of locations that provide this convenient service.
“We continue to expand access to driver’s licence services across the island to better serve the public,” the TAJ noted.
Other offices offering same-day driver’s licence processing include:
-
Kingston Revenue Service Centre
-
St Andrew Revenue Service Centre
-
Montego Bay Revenue Service Centre
-
Spanish Town Tax Office
-
May Pen Tax Office
-
St Ann’s Bay Tax Office
-
Savanna-la-Mar Tax Office
-
Port Antonio Tax Office
Meanwhile, the Portmore Tax Office currently provides renewal services only.
For all other TAJ locations, driver’s licence applications are still accepted, but are sent to one of the main printing locations for processing. These applications are typically ready for pick-up within 20 working days at the same location where they were submitted.
The TAJ is reminding motorists that they can renew their driver’s licence up to 60 days before it expires.
Additionally, the renewal process can also be initiated online by visiting www.jamaicatax.gov.jm, making the payment electronically, and completing the F7 Application Form. Applicants must then submit the form, payment receipt, one passport-size photo, and the expired licence at a TAJ office to finalize the process.
Motorists are also advised that they are allowed to drive using the receipt and expired licence for up to 60 days after the expiry date.
