Kingston, Jamaica — Rachel Silvera, a 25-year-old pharmacy student and entrepreneur from St Mary, was crowned Miss Universe Jamaica 2024 at the AC Hotel in St Andrew on Sunday.
Silvera, who had previously been the first runner-up in the 2022 competition, outshone 32 other contestants with her charm and eloquence. She expressed her joy and gratitude for the title, reflecting on the opportunity to represent her nation.

Pageant directors praised Silvera for her dedication and her role in empowering women and girls, highlighting her as an exceptional ambassador for Jamaica. She will compete in the 73rd Miss Universe pageant in Mexico this September.
