A St Mary businessman was fatally shot during a pre-dawn attack at his residence in Boscobel on Monday, police have confirmed.
The deceased has been identified as 59-year-old Garfield Singh, operator of Singh’s Tyre Sales, Service and Repair in the parish.
According to investigators, the incident unfolded around 4:00 a.m. when loud banging noises were reportedly heard at the businessman’s home, followed shortly by multiple explosions believed to be gunfire. Residents later reported seeing armed men leaving the property.
Commanding officer for the St Mary Police Division, Anthony Wallace, said law enforcement officers were summoned to the location and found Singh inside the house with gunshot wounds.
The matter remains under active investigation.
