A major breakthrough has been made in one of Middle Quarters’ most tragic crimes, as 41-year-old labourer Andre Daniels has been charged in connection with a 2011 shooting that left two young men dead and a woman injured.
Daniels faces two counts of murder, wounding with intent, illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, and assault at common law. The victims, Andrew Grey, 24, and Dave Davis, 19, were residents of the area. The attack occurred around 8:00 p.m. on June 9, 2011, along Jarrett Lane. A female occupant of the home was also injured during the incident.
After evading law enforcement for more than a decade, Daniels was captured during a targeted operation by the Manchester Police on December 16, 2025. He has since been formally charged.
Superintendent Coleridge Minto, head of the St Elizabeth Police Division, praised the investigative teams for their perseverance.
“I want to commend the members of the St Elizabeth Criminal Investigation Branch for their diligent work on this investigation that has now led to charges being laid,” Minto said.
He also lauded the Manchester Division for their role in the arrest, noting the coordinated operational efforts that secured Daniels’ capture.
Minto took the opportunity to issue a stern warning to criminals:
“Persons who engage in criminal activities must understand that there is no statute of limitations on crime. No matter how much time has passed, offenders will be held accountable for their actions.”
The arrest has reignited attention on the 2011 shooting, which claimed the lives of two young men and left deep emotional scars in the community. Authorities say investigations into unresolved cases remain ongoing, as police continue their pursuit of justice for victims and their families.
