KINGSTON, JAMAICA — Police believe the murder of 26-year-old businessman Stephan Trenchfield in St. Andrew on Saturday may be linked to a dispute over lottery scamming proceeds.
Trenchfield, who owned a car dealership and was based in Top Hill, St. Elizabeth, was travelling along Constant Spring Road in a Mercedes-Benz when he was attacked by gunmen on a motorcycle.
The attack took place near Phil’s Hardware and the Rubis Gas Station, where the assailants opened fire, hitting Trenchfield multiple times. He was rushed to Andrews Memorial Hospital but was pronounced dead.
Investigators are exploring leads that suggest Trenchfield’s murder may have been tied to conflicts stemming from illegal lottery scamming activities. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as they continue their probe.
