St Catherine Woman Charged with Stealing Over $3 Million from Ex-Boyfriend’s Home

OLD HARBOUR, St Catherine — A 30-year-old woman has been charged with larceny after allegedly stealing over $3 million in cash, along with household items, from the home of her then-boyfriend who had entrusted her with a key to his property.

The accused, Janalee Nesbeth, of Vineyard Estate in Old Harbour, was charged with larceny from the dwelling following a police investigation into the matter.

According to reports from the Old Harbour police, Nesbeth was in a relationship with the complainant, who at some point gave her access to his home. However, over time, the man reportedly noticed that money had gone missing from the house.

Further checks revealed that not only was cash missing, but a 75-inch television and a stove had also disappeared from his home. The stolen cash is believed to total over $3 million, police say.

After filing a report, law enforcement officers carried out a search of Nesbeth’s residence. She later turned herself in and was taken into custody.

Nesbeth was formally arrested and charged on Sunday, May 11, following a question-and-answer session conducted in the presence of her attorney.

The police say her court date is currently being finalised.
