A teacher who teaches at a prominent high school in the parish of St Catherine found himself behind bars for sexual allegations committed against a 12-year-old student, who attends the same institution.
Despite confirming the incident, the St Catherine police have withheld the identity of the 30-year-old teacher, to protect the identity of the student who still attends the institution.
Reports are that the child made a report to her parents that the teacher was allegedly sexually assaulting her while at school, and a report was immediately made to the police.
Following an investigation, the teacher was taken into custody on Thursday, and subsequently charged with Sexual Touching of a Minor and Sexual Grooming.
