St. Catherine, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Detectives in St. Catherine have launched an investigation into the death of a man whose body was discovered in his yard early Wednesday morning in Kitson Town.
The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Andrew Nelson, a merchandiser of Mary’s Field, Kitson Town.
Reports from the Guanoboa Vale Police are that about 5:10 a.m., Nelson reportedly woke up and went outside to water his plants. A short while later, family members made a shocking discovery — Nelson was found hanging by an electrical cord in an unfinished section of his yard.
When lawmen arrived on the scene, Nelson’s wrists were seen slashed, and a knife was found beside the body. The police have indicated that suicide is suspected at this time.
The body was later removed to the morgue, where a post-mortem examination is expected to determine the official cause of death.
