LINSTEAD, St Catherine — Police have charged 53-year-old Paolo Grant in connection with the death of his 80-year-old mother, Jasmine Grant, whose decomposing body was discovered with stab wounds inside their Cheesefield home.
A court date for Grant is being finalised.
The tragic discovery occurred Wednesday, November 19, after members of a local church visited Grant’s residence following several unanswered calls to the retiree’s phone. Upon entering the home, officers found Jasmine Grant lying on the floor in an advanced state of decomposition with multiple injuries to the head.
Authorities believe the killing may have occurred on November 12, the last day she was seen alive. The scene was processed, and the body was subsequently removed.
Police investigations are ongoing as the community reels from the shocking incident.
