ST. CATHERINE, JAMAICA – June 2, 2025 – A 25-year-old St. Catherine man has been charged by detectives from the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) in connection with allegations of sexual intercourse with a then-underage girl on multiple occasions.
The man, who has not yet been publicly identified, faces three counts of having sexual intercourse with a person under the age of sixteen.
According to police reports, the alleged incidents took place between January and April 2020. It is being alleged that the man and the girl, who was 14 years old at the time, first met on January 1, 2020, and exchanged contact information. He then allegedly invited her to his home on separate occasions during that period, where the sexual acts are said to have occurred.
The matter was formally reported to the police on January 20, 2025, triggering an immediate investigation by CISOCA. The suspect was apprehended last week Tuesday, May 27, and subsequently charged on Saturday, May 31, after being questioned by detectives in the presence of his attorney.
A court date for the accused to appear before a judge is pending and will be announced shortly.
