St Catherine, Jamaica: Businessman Charged for Raping His Own Girlfriend – A St. Catherine businessman has been charged with allegedly raping his own girlfriend, among other sexual offenses.
The accused, 27-year-old Davian Smythe, residing at a Myrtle Avenue address in Phoenix Park Village, Portmore, St. Catherine, faces charges of Rape, Forcible Abduction, Unlawful Detention, Simple Larceny, Grievous Sexual Assault, Common Assault, and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.
Pastor Walks Free of Rape Charges
According to reports by the Portmore police, last October, Smythe picked up his girlfriend from her mother’s home and drove her to his house. While at the house, they engaged in an argument over sex, during which he allegedly locked her inside his bedroom against her will and physically and sexually assaulted her.
It is also reported that over a week ago, Smythe and the female were involved in a similar argument, during which he again sexually assaulted her against her will. She reported the incident to the police, leading to his arrest and subsequent charging.
